Seniors Roundtable Event
The Seniors Roundtable and Open House event is an opportunity for an engaging discussion about current emerging topics and information booths showcasing City services. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow seniors and learn about resources available to support your well-being. Don't miss out on this chance to socialize, learn, and have fun!
The 2026 Seniors Roundtable and Open House took place on June 19.
Thank you to everyone who attended and took part, and we can’t wait to see you at next year’s event!
This year’s event was focused on Civic Engagement.
At the Open House, attendees had the chance to visit booths and speak with City department representatives including Elections Markham, Animal Services, Contact Centre, By-Law and Markham Library, as well as York Region Paramedic Services.
There were several presentations during the event:
- Elections Markham provided an overview of the upcoming municipal elections and important information about how residents can vote.
- The City of Markham’s Corporate Communications Team shared how to keep up with what’s new in your community.
- York Region Paramedic Services presented information including an overview of services; when to call 9-1-1; care in the community; and what happens after an emergency call
The engaging Roundtable discussion focused on which City services and programs seniors are using, and what needs still exist. We thank everyone for their thoughts and feedback!
